Lemonade Anyone?
It's a beautiful morning here...clear, blue skies and sparkling sunshine. A perfect August day. Can't get any better than that! Well, it could...if only it were a day with no 'to do' list and nothing but time to sit by the pool, with a stack of magazines and some icy pink lemonade. (If only we had a pool and I had no 'to do' list! A girl can dream...)
Speaking of lemonade though, here's a quick and easy little project I made with the June Hip Kit from Hip 2B Square...
Wishing you very happy Tuesday...and a chance to sneak in something fun that is not on your 'to do' list!

Speaking of lemonade though, here's a quick and easy little project I made with the June Hip Kit from Hip 2B Square...
It took no time at all to spruce up this cardboard drink carrier with some Basic Grey patterned paper from their Out of Print collection, the decorative edge from a piece of Sassafras Lass Paper Crush Pitter Patter paper, a pretty Sassafras Sunshine Foldie, the perfect 'Where's the Lemonade?' die cut from Jillibean's Watermelon Gazpacho collection (isn't 'gazpacho' a fun word to say?), a sweet little Maya Road gingham posie and some ribbon.
Wishing you very happy Tuesday...and a chance to sneak in something fun that is not on your 'to do' list!

Hip Greetings
Hi friends! Happy Saturday!
Just popping in on this beautiful Saturday to share the cards I made with the June Hip Kit...
The banner on this next card was made using another stamp from the Maya Road set. Here's a peek at the full set of stamps.
Cute, eh? So I stamped the pennant stamps on a variety of the patterned paper from the kit, cut them out and stitched them down.

This may be my favorite color combo of the moment. Turquoise and Orange. Or if you're Martha Stewart...Sunken Pool and Valencia. And I love these little My Mind's Eye trinket charms that were included in the June Add-On kit...isn't that little bird sweet?
It's fun to mix and match the different blossom embellishments in this kit....a Jillibean Soup canvas blossom, a pretty gingham blossom from Maya Road and an adorable layered chipboard blossom from Pebbles. Together they make a perfect little bouquet for this thank you card.
One of the Add-On Kits for June is the Maya Road Blue Ribbon Sentiments clear stamp set. The 'thank you' on this card is one of the stamps from the set, which I stamped on a Jillibean Soup die cut.
These corrugated butterflies are fab and add such great texture to projects...especially with a button 'stitched' on and some paint splatters. The 'You are THE BEST' sentiment is one of the Maya Road stamps.

Added a sentiment, some of the fab Lily Bee Design's ABC Stickers and a few buttons...
Some bittersweet news to share too...Kimberly at Hip 2B Square announced this week that she will be closing her store. It is sad because we're losing a cute, cute local scrapbook store, but it is exciting too, as she'll be able to focus her time and energy on her fantastic Hip Kit club, an expanded online store, a new and improved website with tutorials, challenges, a message board and so much more! So much exciting stuff to come! So if you are local, head out to Snoqualmie for some great deals (the entire store is 50% off) and to wish Kimberly well in this exciting transition!

Hip Kit Show & Tell
Hi friends!
TGIF! Are you as ready for the weekend as I am? I say bring it on.
To start off the weekend, wanted to share a few of my projects created with the yummy June Hip Kit. Kimberly designed another fabulous kit...she has got the knack for that! Get a load of this main kit...

And this Add-On Kit...
Fun, eh? Love all the pretty colors and all the super cute embellishments! Here are the layouts that my little hands created with this kit....
I used a bit of Studio Calico Mister Huey in Sunshine and October Afternoon SprINKler in Lemon Drop on the American Crafts Vanilla cardstock. I love the sunny, warm background it created!
This layout was based on this quote by Jane Howard...
Call it a clan, call it a network, call it a tribe, call it a family.
Whatever you call it, whoever you are, you need one.
So very true. And I adore the sweet mama, sister and brothers that I've been blessed with...
The Lily Bee Design ABC Stickers in this kit are fabulous! I love the size, I love the colors, I love the font. Will definitely be buying more of these for my stash!!
The ink I used on this layout is Studio Calico's Mister Huey in white. Totally in love with this ink at the moment...so you'll most likely be seeing more of it on my projects!
Wishing you a fun & creative weekend.

In the Garden...
Hi friends!
With it warming up a bit here in the Pacific Northwest, my garden is starting to realize that it is actually summertime! We've been blessed with some sunshine this past week so my sweet peas are finally starting to climb (hopefully it's not too late to get blooms?) and two of my Dahlias have decided to bloom...
I'm waiting for it to brighten up just a bit more outside today so I can get some decent photos of new projects I have to share with you...my hands have been busy!

This darling Borage is popping up in random spots around the garden. Did you know that it is edible and looks beautiful floating in an icy drink or decorating the top of simple salad?
I am loving wandering around the yard, watching the fuzzy, ambitious bumble bees in their drunken stupors and discovering Mother Nature's amazing textures and fabulous color inspiration. Oh how I love summertime in the garden!

Happy Weekend!
Hi sweet friends!
Hope you're having a happy, relaxing and creative weekend. Sorry I've been quiet this first week of August...I've been busy playing with some fabulous new Hip 2B Square Hip Kits and will share those projects in the next couple of days.
Last week I snuck in a few minutes of fun in my studio to create some projects for the July challenges over at Citrus Tree Studio. Mara's Color Challenge was to use yellow, green and red. The Pink Paislee Hometown Summer line is perfect for this challenge...
Daniela's Designer's Choice Challenge was to create a card using patterned paper, a die cut or punch and ribbon. Here are two cards that I came up with from scraps from my stash.
Totally love the red, robins egg and pale green color combo of this card...and the limited edition numbers stamp from Studio Calico! I made the flower die cut with the Give A Hoot cricut cartridge and the 'lovely lady' sentiment is a sticker from My Mind's Eye.
I love how these challenges jump started my creativity and that these cards took no time to put together, but were so satisfying to create! Do hope you get to sneak in some fun creative time in your studio/craft room this weekend, my friends.
