Sending Love

Hi friends!
Today I'm sharing a handful of Valentine cards that I created with the colorful and sweet January Hip Kit and Embellishment Kit. And actually, all but one of these could be sent to someone you love at any time of year!

One of my favorite products from the January Hip Kit is the Studio Calico Vellum die cut shapes - especially the hearts & arrows. These transparent stickers are so fun for layering on projects!

I used the Fancy Pants Designs Artist Edition Stencil Card 'LOVE' to help create the next two cards...

On the card above, I inked the punched out letters from the stencil with grey chalk ink...and on the below card, using the stencil, I traced the word LOVE then machine stitched on my traced lines. These stencils are great! There are so many different ways to use them on projects.

Be sure to pop over to the Hip 2-B Square blog to see the amazing projects that the Design Team has come up with...and the way they've used their Fancy Pants stencils from the kit!

Hello Spring

This morning I woke up and the first thing I heard? The sweet birds chirping away! Oh, how I love this. Spring is surely on its way!

This card was created with product found in the January Hip Kit & January Embellishment Kit.
Totally love that chevron patterned paper from Dear Lizzy's 5th & Frolic collection, the button embellishments from My Mind's Eye and the sweet Dear Lizzy 5th & Frolic chipboard Bits. I added just a bit of sparkle with a scatter of sequins from my stash.

Hello spring hello.

Loving Limeade

Looking back through some layouts I created with the super fun December 2012 Hip Kit, I realized that I created two layouts using the American Crafts Limeade cardstock as my base. I'm oddly drawn to this bright, chartreuse green color...it's fresh, energetic and happy. I think it looks yummy when combined with turquoise, red & mustard yellow...

(Oh how I wish I were here right now for some surf, sunshine & sand!)

On both of these layouts I used the Heidi Swapp Color Shine (one of my current favorite products!)
If you haven't tried it yet...just warning you now that you'll want one in EVERY color. It has this wonderful, iridescent shine. I used 'Mustard' on the layout above (with the Studio Calico Chevron mask) and 'Tropicana Teal' on the layout below (with the Balzer Designs Mini Life Strips mask from The Crafter's Workshop.)

What's your favorite color combo and product right now? Anything that you just can't live without...that I must get my hands on?
Have a creative day!

Grey and Yellow

One of my favorite color combinations right now is grey and yellow. (I know I'm not alone here!) But then add a dash of red or aqua...and I love it even more!

Here are a couple cards that I created using this lovely color combo...

All products can be found in the December Hip Kit. The 'Enjoy the Journey' sentiment is one of the Pebbles Seen & Noted journaling cards found in the December Embellishment Add-On Kit. I just cut it down to fit my card. This journaling card pad is great for cards and layouts...and would be perfect for Project Life too. Truly one of my favorite products in the December Embellishment Kit.

The wood veneer typwriters from Studio Calico are adorable. Will never tire of using those fabulous little wood embellishments on projects!

The 'Dream Big' sentiment on this card is from the Studio Calico Darling Dear 'Temple' paper. Love the bold, graphic print. I embellished it with a couple of the Studio Calico Darling Dear opaque gems found the December Embellishment Kit.

Happy cardmaking...

Notes, Quotes & Things to Remember

Hi friends!
Happy Friday to You! (Oh how I love Fridays! It may very well be my favorite day of the week.)

I had shared a sneak peek of this fun little project that I was working on last week. Such a quick, simple project...a happy project.

I covered a basic composition book with various happy bits from the December Hip Kit.
The only items that can't be found in the kit are the black dymo tape (that I used for the 'things to' sentiment), the red chevron washi from My Mind's Eye and the day of the week washi tape from the KI Memories Flashback collection (both are part of my abundant stash of washi!)

Even if I don't use it, it looks really cute sitting on my desk. :)

Wishing you a happy & creative weekend ahead!

A Beautiful Life

Hi friends!
Welcome to Wednesday.
Here's another layout I created with product from the super happy December Hip Kit...

Life certainly is a crazy ride...lots of ups and downs. Seems like so many people I know have family or friends that are dealing with the 'downs' lately. This layout helps me remember to celebrate the beautiful, joyful moments life brings.

That fun arrow (a piece from the Amy Tangerine Ready Set Go diecuts) is pointing at my hubby and our friend Dave. They were taking a dip in the Pacific when we were in Kona in October. LOVE that amazing, clear blue water...

Thanks for stopping by for a visit!
Wishing you a bit of sunshine in your day...wherever you may be.
