My Color Challenge

Hi friends!
Today the Citrus Tree Studio Design Team is kicking off another round of challenges. For March, I have a color challenge to share...and it is not green!
My color palette was inspired by these photos I saw on Pam Garrison's blog...

Which also reminded me of this fabulous picture from greenweddingshoes.com...

How fun is that?! I want to be invited to that party!
Based on this pretty color palette, I created some cards.
The first card features Basic Grey's 'Boy Band' patterned paper from their Hopscotch collection, 'Love Notes' from the Sassafras Paper Crush collection and a Cosmo Cricket chipboard button.

The next card features My Mind's Eye 'Mabel' paper from their Stella and Rose collection, and bits of paper from Crate Paper...'Playdate' from the new Toy Box collection and 'Quilts' from the new Emma's Shoppe collection (bits I was lucky to get at CHA...I ADORE these new collections!!). The round doily sticker is from a Studio Calico kit (designed by Crate Paper for SC) and the pretty butterfly is a vintage piece from an old Jenni Bowlin kit.

And the third card features a mix of pretty papers from the My Mind's Eye Fine and Dandy collection, a die cut from their Lost and Found collection, some pink tulle I purchased at Impress and a vintage button.

I hope you play along with my color challenge this month! You can get all the details about the prize that's up for grabs from Citrus Tree Studio here....plus there's a new sketch challenge and a new technique challenge (which involves canvas, YAY!) posted, so go check it out & join in on the fun!

Happy Crafting,

Has it really been...

...two weeks since my last post?!? Where is the month of January going?!?? Oh.My. I have no excuse for not blogging...well, maybe a few. Getting some projects done...working with a couple of super fab kits...trying to organize my creative space (more on that later!)

Here are a couple sneak peeks of projects I created with the super cute, colorful & retro December Hip Kit. These will be posted on the Hip 2B Square blog very soon...

Have you visited the Paper Issues blog lately? Love is in the air over there! A new 'Issue' has been posted. Go check it out...and link up your sweet Valentine projects for a chance to win a S.E.I. prize package! I need to get busy on my Valentine cards & a couple other love-ly projects I have in mind. I did have fun playing with the Cake Slice box and Heart Pocket templates from the January/February 2011 issue of Paper Crafts magazine.

You can find both of these templates, plus other cute ones, here.

And speaking of cake...there's some in my very near future! I'm so glad the weekend is here - lots of fun things ahead plus a birthday cake, for me! Cherry Chip is my favorite...what's yours?

Two days to go...

...and no, my Christmas cards have not been mailed! I'm thinking I might just send New Years cards this year instead!!

My card stash has grown a little in the past few days though, as I've been playing along with Amy Heller's fabulous '12 Days of Christmas Cards' over on her blog, {Paush Design} . Her fun sketches & super cute examples were totally inspiring...all I wanted to do yesterday was create cards (Note: I didn't want to write & address cards, just create the cards! LOL) I'll just have to save these ones for next year...

I had so much fun playing with a variety of papers & embellishments from my stash.
Thanks for all the inspiration, Miss Amy!

How cool would it be...

...to be an honorary design team member for Cosmo Cricket in November?!?!! Did you see this post on their blog today? Oh my goodness! Besides the fact that I am drooling over the sneak peek of their new Circa 1934 product line...my heart went pitter patter at the thought of joining their design team, even if for one brief month! So...if you haven't nominated yourself or received bribes from fellow Cosmo Cricket lovers yet, here's my plea to you. Please, please, please go and leave a nomination for little 'ole me in the comment section of this post. Not sure how I could ever thank you enough if I was lucky enough to get picked, but I bet I could think of something! :) And when you're leaving a nomination in the comments, don't forget to tell them what you think of their sneak peak...'cause you could be a winner of some product from the line! Fun!!

Earth Love

'One of the advantages of being disorderly is that one is constantly making exciting discoveries.' {A.A. Milne}

Well, isn't that the truth! At the bottom of a pile in my studio, I discovered some Cosmo Cricket Earth Love. This line is so, so sweet!

The next card is the prettiest shade of pale green with touches of dusty blue...but for the life of me, I could not get my camera to capture it! I couldn't bear to exclude the sweet snail & his words of wisdom  from this post though....

Have a happy Wednesday afternoon my friends! Take time to slow down & enjoy the journey...
